Traffic Management
Road Safety Around the School
To keep everyone safe during drop-off and pick-up times, we seek your cooperation in observing the following guidelines:
-
Please slow down and stay alert for pedestrians within the school zone.
-
Observe the speed limits:
-
School/Silver Zone: 30 km/h
-
Within school compound: 15 km/h
-
-
Follow the instructions of traffic marshals at all times.
-
Allow your child to alight only at the designated drop-off point.
-
Do not make illegal or dangerous driving manoeuvres.
-
Avoid sounding the car horn unnecessarily.
-
Assist your child to alight promptly and safely.
-
Reinforce good road safety habits with your child, such as:
-
Using pedestrian crossings
-
Avoiding jaywalking
-
Not using mobile phones while walking or crossing the road
-
Please also remind your child to practise the Kerb Drill before
crossing the road:
Look right, look left, look right again. Ensure all vehicles have stopped, raise your hand, and cross the road briskly.
Morning Drop-Off at Ang Mo Kio Street 32
Ang Mo Kio Street 32 is part of the Silver Zone Scheme, designed to create a safer road environment for senior pedestrians and students.
Our school has an extended driveway drop-off point located after the main gate. Parents are advised to wait until their vehicle reaches this designated drop-off point before allowing their child to alight. For safety reasons, children should not alight in front of the main school entrance.
During dry weather, a school staff member will be stationed along the pavement to assist students as they alight.
For everyone’s safety, parents are strongly discouraged from stopping opposite the school entrance and having children cross the road, as this is unsafe and considered jaywalking.
After-School Pick-Up
Parents are reminded not to park or wait along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8, as this may cause traffic congestion and safety concerns. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has informed the school that enforcement action may be taken against motorists who do not comply with traffic regulations.
If you arrive early for dismissal, you are encouraged to park at:
-
The open car park along Ang Mo Kio Street 32, or
-
Nearby HDB neighbourhood car parks.
Wet Weather Arrangements
Morning Entry
During wet weather in the morning, parents may drive into the school compound
to alight their children at the school foyer.
Afternoon Dismissal
In wet weather, walk-in parents and caregivers are also allowed to wait
inside the school foyer to pick up their children. To avoid congestion
at Gate A, they will exit via the main entrance. During this period, vehicles
will NOT be allowed to enter the compound.
Please note that school buses require time to exit the compound after dismissal. As such, parents may only drive into the school compound to pick up their children at the school foyer after 1.50 pm.
